Tigers have a similar digestive system to humans. Because they are carnivores, they convert the meat they eat from their prey into protein.

STOMACH:

Their stomachs are small and very light which allows them to reach top speeds when hunting. Being a carnivore, this means that they do not need many microbes in their gut to help breakdown food, which is one of the reasons why their stomachs are so light.

FUNCTION:

The digestive system of tigers are essentially the same as other mammals. They contain the same organs used to breakdown food such as the stomach, esophagus, and both intestines. Food is taken in through the mouth and broken down with its teeth. Then goes through the pathway of the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, intestines, rectum, and anus to be excreted.
